Yerevan Police have started apprehending the drivers protesting—outside the Central Bank of Armenia—against the impending increase in auto insurance premiums in the country.

Also, these drivers posted banners that read "It will not increase" on the trees nearby.

Police said public places cannot be used for inappropriately, and the posting of banners was illegal.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am had reported earlier, drivers had staged a similar protest Monday, too,  at Republic Square in Yerevan. They had driven around the square while honking the horns of their vehicles. But the police had stopped them, apprehended some of these drivers, and had their vehicles towed away.

The aforesaid increase in car insurance fees will take effect in Armenia as of February 7.
