France agreed to participate in strengthening the defense system of the United Arab Emirates, including the deployment of Rafale aircraft, after the Houthis attacks.

The United Arab Emirates was the victim of serious attacks on its territory in January. To demonstrate our solidarity, France has decided to provide military support, in particular to protect the airspace from any intrusion, French Minister of the Armed Forces Florence Parly tweeted.

The United Arab Emirates said it had intercepted three drones that entered its airspace over uninhabited areas in the latest attack on the commercial and tourist hub of the Persian Gulf in weeks.

The United States also said earlier this week that it would send fighter jets to assist the United Arab Emirates.
