Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte and former British Prime Minister Theresa May are considered among the candidates for the NATO Secretary-General post, German news agency DPA reported.

According to the media, in addition to May and Rutte, Romanian President Klaus Iohannis, Prime Minister of Estonia Kaja Kallas and former EU Commissioner for Foreign Affairs Federica Mogherini also claim to the post of NATO Secretary-General.

Earlier, the Norwegian authorities reported that the current head of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, was appointed head of the Norwegian Central Bank.
