It is impossible to normalize the international situation without a dialogue with Russia, said French President Emmanuel Macron on the eve of a visit to Moscow, TASS reports.

The recent period has confirmed that if we refuse dialogue, and this was the choice of the Europeans when, together with Chancellor Merkel, we proposed to hold an EU-Russia summit, then it is impossible to resolve any conflict, Macron told Paris weekly le Journal du Dimanche.

Because in this case we allow others to speak on our behalf and can no longer contribute to our collective security, he said. Commenting on the situation around Ukraine, he stressed that now it is necessary to reduce tension through dialogue in order to avoid an armed conflict.
