Turkish UAVs have received a new set of upgraded sensors to improve their targeting capabilities, the pro-government Daily Sabah reported.

According to the head of the Defense Industry Directorate, Ismail Demir, the new Common Aperture Guidance System (CATS) fitted to the TB-2 is produced locally by Turkish defense firm Aselan. CATS is a high-performance electro-optical reconnaissance, surveillance and guidance system designed for aircraft and helicopters that can help identify targets on the battlefield.

The TB-2 previously relied on an electro-optical sensor provided by Canada, but Ottawa banned further exports due to Turkey's support for Azerbaijan's aggression against Artsakh.
