YEREVAN. – Zhoghovurd newspaper of Armenia writes: Yesterday Armlur.am had written that the questioning of 8 Armenian prisoners of war who returned to Armenia [from Azerbaijan] was quite tense and difficult.
The thing is that while the investigators questioned them due to the necessity of the criminal case, the relatives of the prisoners of war raised uproar in anger and tried to break the windows of the building of the military investigation department. The situation was restrained by the police officers. The demand of the parents was bit one: that the law enforcement release their children as soon as possible.
According to the information received by Zhoghovurd daily, the questioning started at about 15:00 and lasted for about 7-8 hours.
And now an important question is whether the repatriated captives will be arrested or not. We learned from our law enforcement sources that the investigative body has not yet charged, detained any of the boys who returned to Armenia. And it is difficult to predict what new circumstances will emerge in the criminal case in the future.
P.S. The questioning of the 8 prisoners of war ended late in the evening at the military investigation department. We found out that 6 out of the 8 prisoners of war were released by the investigative body; they went home, whereas 2 of them, who are conscripts, were transferred to the military police in order to resolve later the matter of their [military] service.
