French President Emmanuel Macron said that the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis could take several months, Reuters reported.

According to him, Russian President Vladimir Putin told him that he would not be behind the escalation of tensions. Macron said the talks he had with Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky over the past 24 hours helped make progress in trying to stabilize the region.

Macron believes that the Minsk agreements are the only way to resolve the conflict in eastern Ukraine and come to a sustainable peace. He also noted that the Ukrainian side is ready to implement the Minsk agreements, the 112 Ukraine TV channel reports.

The French President added that the Minsk agreements act as a tool to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country. He noted that all parties must fulfill their obligations under the agreement.
