On 8 February, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Armenia Alexander Konyuk visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Foreign Ministry spokesman Vahan Hunanyan told NEWS.am.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman did not specify the message conveyed to the ambassador. Earlier, the Armenian Foreign Ministry commented on President Lukashenko's resonant statements, noting that "the unique geopolitical analyses of the Belarusian President are aimed, first and foremost, at serving his own domestic political agenda, and they have nothing to do with Armenia and its foreign policy."

In an interview with renowned Russian journalist Vladimir Solovyov, and speaking about a union state of Belarus and Russia and the prospects for other post-Soviet countries joining it, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko had said: "Armenia has no place to go. Do you think anyone needs them? They have already seen [that] ... [Armenian PM] Nikol Vovayevich [Pashinyan] has seen that."
