Boris Avagyan, 41, who is registered in Yerevan, has been declared wanted by the Police of Armenia since February 4, according to shamshyan.com.

He is wanted on charges of "legalizing property obtained through criminal means, money laundering, especially in large amounts."

To note, in April 2021, by the order of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Minister of Internal Affairs Karen Sargsyan, Boris Avagyan was relieved of the post of Deputy Director of the Artsakh State Service of Emergency Situations (SSES)—and due his opinions expressed during a press conference in Yerevan.

According to the respective statement, Avagyan had not informed his superiors about this press conference held by him and speaking on behalf of the SSES, and, during this press conference, he had spoken about topics beyond his authority.
