I am convinced that we will continue the efforts to develop interstate relations at a high level, to deepen them for the benefit of our peoples and for the sake of long-term peace in the region. This is stated in the message by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, addressed to the participants in Wednesday’s international conference in Yerevan, entitled "Armenia-Iran: Historical Past and Present," and dedicated to the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The message also states as follows:

"Our [two] countries, overcoming many difficulties over the centuries, today show an example of reliable relations. The past 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations [between Armenia and Iran] have been marked by the expansion of cooperation. Iran is Armenia's key partner in economic, political, scientific, cultural, and other spheres. Iran continues to occupy a leading position in the field of [Armenia’s] trade relations. There is a serious potential for the development of those relations, as well as for cooperation in the fields of science, culture."
