Ishkhan Saghatelyan, the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia deputy speaker from the opposition "Armenia" Faction, has informed that he has come up with a law initiative with his colleagues Aram Vardevanyan and Aghvan Vardanyan from the aforesaid faction. He wrote as follows on Facebook:

"Armenia's territorial integrity and sovereignty are at risk in the post-war period, and the number one priority of the Republic of Armenia should be to guarantee the integrity of its territory and to prevent the Armenophobic policy adopted by the inimical state [i.e., Azerbaijan] and its implementation.

We have come up with a new legislative initiative with my colleagues Aram Vardevanyan and Aghvan Vardanyan.

We propose to criminalize ‘public expressions aimed against the territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia, publicly justifying or propagating the commission of the mentioned crime.’

For the above-mentioned crimes, we propose a fine in the amount of one thousand to two thousand times the minimum [monthly] wage [in Armenia], or imprisonment for a term of two to four years. three thousand times, or imprisonment for a term of three to five years, while for public expressions aimed at renouncing or curtailing the sovereignty of the Republic of Armenia, for publicly justifying or propagating the commission of the mentioned crime, to impose a fine in the amount of two thousand to three thousand times the [monthly] minimum wage, or imprisonment for a term of three to five years.

The concretization and criminalization of the relevant actions presented in the draft in the Criminal Code will contribute to the prevention of forced or even voluntary manifestation of such actions.”
