YEREVAN. – The Human Rights Defender (Ombudsman) of Armenia, Arman Tatoyan, met with US Ambassador Lynne Tracy, the ombudsman's office informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

First, Tatoyan lauded the effective cooperation with the US embassy in Armenia.

A number of human rights issues were discussed during the ensuing talk.

Also, Arman Tatoyan briefed the US ambassador on the violations of the rights of the border residents of Armenia by the servicemen of the Azerbaijani armed forces. In addition, he noted the urgency of the return of Armenian captives who are still detained illegally in Azerbaijan.

Ambassador Tracy, for her part, lauded their cooperation with Ombudsman Arman Tatoyan, and the effectiveness of the programs they have jointly implemented.
