At Thursday's Cabinet meeting, the Armenian government approved the technical regulation on the safety of substitutes for tobacco products.

Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan presented the respected program, and noted that the restrictions on substitutes for tobacco products are coming into force in Armenia one by one.

In his turn, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan recalled that the display of cigarettes in shops has been banned in the country since January 1.

Also, he reminded that the ban on smoking in public food—in both open and closed—spots will come into force in Armenia on March 15.

Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan, in turn, said that the rules of smoking ban had already entered into force in the country’ medical institutions and at workplaces.
