Britain's Prince Charles was tested positive for COVID-19 for the second time, Reuters reported.

"This morning The Prince of Wales has tested positive for COVID-19 and is now self-isolating," a statement on Twitter reads, adding that the prince had canceled scheduled events for later in the day.

Charles, who said in December both he and his wife Camilla had received their COVID-19 vaccine booster shots, previously tested positive for the virus in March 2020.

The day before, Charles attended a British Asian Trust reception where photos showed him talking to other guests, including UK finance minister Rishi Sunak.

Health Minister Sajid Javid and Home Secretary Priti Patel were also among the guests.

Charles's son Prince William also contracted COVID shortly after his father in 2020 and the media reported that he suffered quite badly from the disease.
