The reports being disseminated in some of Armenia’s media, according to which Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) President Arayik Harutyunyan has recently expressed readiness to leave office, do not correspond to reality.

Lusine Avanesyan, spokeswoman for the Artsakh President, told Artsakhpress that without commenting on the aforesaid media reports, she just wanted to remind that President Harutyunyan had stated several times in the post-war period that he was ready to step down, but noting that he will take that step when national elections can be held in Artsakh.

"The start of the constitutional reform process, which will answer a number of questions, has been given in Artsakh these days. Until the end of that process, I will refrain from commenting on all other discussions," the Artsakh President's spokesperson added.
