The recommendation to Italian citizens to leave Ukraine and postpone trips to that country is of a preventive and precautionary nature. Stated the republic's Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio in his Facebook on Saturday, reports TASS.

"I chaired a meeting of the Foreign Ministry Crisis Center on the situation in Ukraine. Out of caution, we have decided to recommend that all Italian citizens in Ukraine return home on commercial transport and postpone travel to that country. We have also decided to return all non-essential personnel of our embassy in Kiev, which is working normally," the minister wrote.

According to him, Italy is in favor of a diplomatic settlement of the crisis around Ukraine, seeking from Moscow through dialogue concrete signals of detente.
