Armenian Defence Minister Suren Papikyan received the delegation headed by the European Union Special Representative for the South Caucasus Toivo Klaar.

The meeting was also attended by the head of the EU delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Andrea Victorin.

The Armenian Minister of Defense thanked the EU leadership and Ambassador Klaar personally for the active efforts in repatriating the Armenian POWs from Azerbaijan and presented the situation in Artsakh and on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.

Toivo Klaar noted in his turn that the EU is ready to assist in the final settlement of the conflict and stabilization of the situation, to promote the activation of negotiations in various formats. It was noted that the EU will continue its works in the humanitarian sphere, in particular the return of the prisoners of war, other persons and the search of the missing persons.

During the meeting, the sides also discussed regional security issues.
