The Belgian police, in cooperation with Eurojust and Europol, have carried out a major operation to dismantle a drug trafficking ring that had set up a trafficking network in Europe, RTBF television reported.

The police were supported by special forces due to the high risk of the criminal association. The main part of the operation took place in the Belgian metropolitan area and around the port city of Antwerp. According to the TV channel, property and other materials were confiscated from the bandits.

Citing investigators, the investigating judge and the federal prosecutor's office, RTBF reported that Belgium appeared to be one of the centres of an international drug trafficking network․
