The Armenian authorities' proposal for a “mirror withdrawal” of the troops from the Armenian-Azerbaijani border gives the impression that they do not know how the border runs and what settlements there are there. The second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, stated this during his press conference Thursday.

He assumed that the Armenian authorities may have a more detailed plan in this regard, but they do not publicize it.

"But the question arises: Is there a plan? Or do they propose it to show activeness? Is it for the local [Armenian] audience? Or is it really a solution to the situation?" Kocharyan asked.

According to him, he had received a proposal for a “mirror withdrawal” of the troops during the military operations in 1993.

"This is a standard proposal. But now I do not see that it is applied without losses," Kocharyan added.
