The Artsakh National Assembly adopted the Law on the Occupied Territories of the Artsakh Republic. Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Minister of State Artak Beglaryan wrote about this Friday on his Telegram channel.

"This law is not only the legal wording of the political position of the [Artsakh] state, but also regulates the legal relations in the [Artsakh] territories occupied by Azerbaijan, clarifies the scope of accountability of Azerbaijan.

This law deals with economic relations and procedures, the use of the subsoil and other natural resources, and the protection of human rights.

We are well aware that we have limited legal mechanisms to carry out the functions noted in the law and to achieve the goals. But we are obligated to make the most of the existing legal and political mechanisms in that regard.

The territories of the Artsakh Republic must be de-occupied, and our citizens must return to their native homes," Beglaryan added, in particular.

As reported earlier, at its special sitting Friday, the Artsakh National Assembly unanimously passed, in the second reading and in full, the draft law "On Occupied Territories."
