YEREVAN. – Hraparak daily of Armenia writes: We have learned noteworthy details about the “low quality missiles” case.

As it is known, the body conducting the proceedings had appointed an expert examination of the missiles back in July of last year, but in October it became known that it remained imperfect, against which [defendant and ex-defense minister] Davit Tonoyan's lawyers have filed a complaint.

And Tonoyan, who is under arrest for more than four months [in connection with this criminal case], expressed confidence in his well-known letter that "in case the expert examination was carried out, the applicability of the missiles would be confirmed."

Let us recall that the prosecutor's office had petitioned to conduct an expert examination. According to our information, they even informed the MOD special unit to prepare for an expert examination of the missiles, but later changed their mind. And during the closed session of the case, the prosecution allegedly substantiated that the expert examination, in addition to being a matter of large sums of money, could have dangerous consequences because the plane has to take off, the missile—fire, and so on.

And although one of the defendants—who is a pilot by profession—in the case expressed willingness to fly the plane in person, moreover, to put his family on the plane during the flight, trying to assure that the planes are in good condition, it’s all the same; no decision has been made to this day on conducting an expert examination.
