Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has noted that in his remarks on the situation in Ukraine, US President Joe Biden did not say a word about the actual situation of the civilian population in Donbas, TASS reports.

"The most monstrous thing is that there is no word about the real situation of the civilian population of Donbas. There are no people, there are no problems?" Zakharova wrote on Telegram on Saturday morning.

During his seven-minute speech before reporters on Friday, the US President had said that an attempt was being made to engage Kyiv in provocation in Donbas. According to Biden, Russian President Vladimir Putin has already made a decision on "invasion," and Russian forces will attack Ukraine in the coming days. The US President had added that the West is ready to impose new sanctions on Russia in case of "invasion" of Ukraine, but the "door" for diplomacy was still open.
