Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said that Tokyo was imposing sanctions against a number of citizens of Belarus, including against President Alexander Lukashenko, RIA Novosti reported.
According to the prime minister, the sanctions are imposed due to the fact that Minsk supports Moscow in its military operation in Ukraine.
The restrictions will also apply to Belarusian organizations and import relations.
