A $45 million ($33 million) has been frozen at an Australian financial institution under new sanctions in response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, AP reports.
Foreign Secretary Marise Payne declined to name the institution or who owns the money.
Australia has imposed sanctions on more than 350 Russians, including President Vladimir Putin. Australia also imposed sanctions on 13 Belarusian legal entities and individuals, including Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin.
