Armenia and Lebanon celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, the Lebanese Foreign Ministry's press service informed NEWS.am.
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdullah Bou Habib exchanged congratulatory messages on the occasion.
Mirzoyan noted in his message that, by establishing diplomatic relations, Armenia and Lebanon, in essence, strengthened the centuries-old friendship of the two nations by launching state cooperation.
The Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs underlined that the centuries-old friendship of the two peoples created a solid base for the establishment of a comprehensive field of bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
In his turn, Abdallah Bou Habib noted that the establishment of diplomatic relations with Armenia was a natural continuation of the historical friendship between the two peoples, in which the Lebanese and Armenian communities have a unique role. The Armenian community, he said, is a comprehensive and key component of the Lebanese social structure.
Dozens of treaties, agreements, memorandums and protocols have been signed between the two sides over a 30-year period of inter-state relations, adding to the contractual and legal framework underpinning bilateral relations.
