Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan held a phone conversation with British Minister of State for Europe and North America James Cleverly on Friday, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office informed NEWS.am.

The telephone conversation was held on the initiative of the British side.

Ararat Mirzoyan congratulated James Cleverly on his appointment as Minister of State and wished him success in his challenging mission.

The interlocutors touched upon the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The interlocutors reaffirmed the readiness to strengthen and expand the cooperation based on common values and mutual trust.

The importance of implementation of democratic reforms in Armenia was stressed, as well as the assistance provided by the United Kingdom in this process.

During the talk the issues related to regional security and stability were touched upon. Mirzoyan presented the situation created during the 44-day war, as well as the situation created by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces' invasion into Armenia's sovereign territory.

Other issues on the international agenda were also discussed.
