Russian President Vladimir Putin during a phone conversation with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz explained the goals and objectives as well as the approaches of the Russian side in the context of a special military operation in Ukraine, the Kremlin's press service reported.

"Vladimir Putin outlined the Russian principled approaches in the context of a special military operation to protect the population of Donbas, explained in detail its goals and objectives, which will definitely be implemented," the press service said.

The Russian president also noted that Russia is ready for a dialogue with the Ukrainian side "if all Russian requirements are met".

At the end of the message, the Kremlin press service expressed hope that during the planned third round of negotiations Kiev's representatives will take a reasonable and constructive position.
