President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan began talks with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to discuss the situation in Ukraine, RIA Novosti reported with reference to the TV channel TRT Haber.
Earlier, a Turkish presidential spokesman said that Erdoğan will voice Ankara's proposals on Ukraine to him during his expected talks with Putin on Sunday.
"President Erdoğan's telephone talks with Russian leader Vladimir Putin began as we speak. The situation in Ukraine is being discussed. A statement from the Turkish leader's office is expected," the channel reported.
