The leadership of Saudi Arabia plans to launch the production of its own unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for military purposes. This was stated by the Executive Director of the Saudi Military Industrial Company (SAMI) Walid Abu Khaled on the sidelines of the International Defense Industry Exhibition in Riyadh, TASS reports.

“The UAV will be 100% domestically produced and will go into service with our Armed Forces. We cooperate with various foreign companies that manufacture UAVs and which help us develop our own devices. At the same time, we are working on the creation of one of the world's largest factories for the production of ammunition, ”the local Al-Ikhbariyah TV channel quoted a SAMI representative as saying.

In addition, as Abu Khaled specified, the authorities of the kingdom plan to direct more than 50% of all military spending to Saudi specialized companies by 2030.

The International Defense Industry Exhibition is being held in the capital of Saudi Arabia from 6 to 9 March. Various companies from 45 countries, including Russia, participate in it.
