Shots were fired Monday in downtown Yerevan, shamshyan.com reported.

At around 2:10am, the police received a call from a hospital that a man with gunshot wounds had been brought to this medical center.

While the doctors were trying to save his life, the police found out that he is Arsen Sargsyan, 50, a resident of Yerevan.

The police found out as well that the incident had taken place at the courtyard of a building where an unidentified person had fired several shots at Sargsyan, then fled the scene.

Blood and two fired cartridges were found at the scene.

The injured is the godson of Armen Kanevsko, a thief in law, as well as the owner of a famous jazz club and a restaurant.
