The European Commission (EC) has prepared a new package of sanctions against individuals in Russia and banks in Belarus, Reuters reported on Tuesday, citing sources.

According to them, the ambassadors of the EU countries will discuss the sanctions at a meeting on Tuesday at 14:00.

The package involves disconnecting three Belarusian banks from the international payment system SWIFT and blacklisting Russian oligarchs and deputies from the European Union.

According to the Bloomberg agency, we are talking about 14 entrepreneurs and dozens of Russian MPs.

The new package of restrictive measures will include a ban on the export of marine technology to Russia and include a recommendation to monitor cryptocurrencies in order to prevent their use to circumvent EU sanctions.
