Ukrainian border guards are demanding bribes of up to $5,000 from evacuees for unhindered border crossing, the head of Russian National Defence Management Centre, Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev said, TASS reports.

According to him, various permit restrictions have been introduced. "In particular, men aged 18 to 60 are not allowed on the territory of Poland without a permit from the Ukrainian military registration and enlistment offices. But corrupt border guards offer a bribe of up to $5,000 to cross the border unhindered," he said.

Additionally, numerous cases of physical abuse, robbery and looting of Ukrainian refugees and foreign nationals by criminals have been recorded. People are demanded up to $1,500 for arranging unimpeded passage to the territory of other countries that are on the border with Ukraine.
