The US State Department advised Tuesday, the Americans planning a trip to Ukraine despite the call not to visit the country to take DNA samples, write a will, and discuss possible child custody issues with loved ones.

Those wishing to travel to Ukraine despite the recommendation to refrain from doing so should take a number of steps, including making a will, discussing child custody, pet care, property and asset management plans with loved ones, and handing over relatives important documents and personal data.

Such citizens are encouraged to submit DNA samples to the medical organization where they are served, in case the family needs to get access to them. In addition, Americans traveling to Ukraine are advised to draw up their own security plan or consult with a relevant organization.
