The World Health Organization has strongly recommended that Ukraine's Ministry of Health safely destroy dangerous pathogens that could be housed in biolabs to prevent any potential leaks, according to CNN.

WHO is also promoting biosecurity in laboratories, such as preventing the accidental or intentional release of pathogens. As part of this work, WHO has urged the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and other responsible authorities to destroy highly dangerous pathogens to prevent any potential leaks, the WHO said in a response to a CNN request.

WHO regularly assists Member States in building their public health capacity, including by helping to improve the safety and security of laboratories that store samples of pathogens of public health concern, wrote WHO spokesman Tarik Jasarevic.

Russian defense ministry presented a report on bilaboratories in Ukraine, which were funded by the United States.
