Armenia may apply to OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs to initiate peace talks with Azerbaijan in near future, Armenpress reported.
The information was confirmed by Armenian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Vahan Hunanyan.
Hunanyan said that Armenia has repeatedly voiced its readiness to sign a peace treaty with Azerbaijan.
"Naturally, the signing of an agreement should be preceded by the negotiation process on this issue, and since the mutual statements have not yet grown into a specific negotiation process, as the two countries do not have much experience in direct negotiations, Armenia will probably soon turn to the mediators (OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship) to initiate peace talks. The issue is currently at the drafting stage," he said.
