YEREVAN. – Past daily of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes. The Office of the Prime Minister of Armenia had issued a statement that [PM] Nikol Pashinyan had an informal meeting with the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, in Paris.

“The interlocutors discussed various issues on the agenda of Armenia-European Union cooperation. The situation around Nagorno Karabakh [(Artsakh)] was touched upon," the statement said [in part].

On the surface, it looks like a normal statement, and there is nothing unusual about it. However, it is noteworthy that only the Office of the RA Prime Minister informs about this meeting, whereas there is not even a single line [about it] on the official website of the European Council.

Moreover, the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, also did not reflect on this meeting on his Twitter page.

Our sources in the diplomatic corps note that this meeting was in fact by chance—as they say, "on foot." According to Past’s information, the meeting took place in the Palace of Versailles where the informal summit of the EC [European Council] was to take place, and Nikol Pashinyan, who was in Versailles for a tour, entertainment (which is also evidenced by Pashinyan's clothes), met Charles Michel by chance, and which became an occasion to disseminate a separate official statement.
