Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed with US President Joe Biden how to put even more pressure on Russia to end the war and establish peace, UNIAN reports.
"Russia will be deprived of the opportunity to do normal trade with the [other] G7 countries. The less [US] dollars Russian business earns and the less taxes the Russian state receives, the less opportunities the Russian military will have to kill our people," Zelenskyy said in a video message.
He noted that leading international companies are already leaving the Russian market. According to him, "by starting a war," the Russian authorities "are taking their country out of the global world."
Zelenskyy noted that the exchange rate of one US dollar in Moscow exchange offices has already reached even 200 rubles.
"But this is only the beginning; the start of international sanctions. The next step is to ban the [US] dollar in Russia altogether. Thus, there will be a currency deficit [in Russia]. This means that the exchange rate will rise even more, the prices will rise [in Russia]. This also means that each and every Russian citizen will sense that the lack of peace is a threat to him personally," the Ukrainian President added.
