The NATO-Georgia command post exercise will be held from 20 to 25 March, Novosti-Georgia reported with reference to the Ministry of Defense of the country.

As emphasized in the department, the maneuvers involve computer exercises, not field exercises. Their purpose is to improve the skills of planning operations and exchange of experience.

Representatives of 23 member countries and partners of the alliance will take part in the multinational exercises. They will be held at the Georgia-NATO Joint Training and Assessment Center (JTEC) in Krtsanisi.

The maneuvers are planned as part of the Georgia-NATO Substantial Package of Measures, which the country received in 2014 following the summit in Wales. The last time a similar command and staff exercise was held in 2019.

Institutional cooperation between Georgia and NATO began in 1994, when Georgia became a member of the Partnership for Peace program.
