YEREVAN. – Zhoghovurd newspaper of Armenia writes: According to Zhoghovurd daily’s information, the discussions’ phase has started with the criminal case initiated in the NSS [(National Security Service)] over the incident that took place in the NA [(National Assembly)] on December 7, 2021, in order to find out who or why should be charged in the end.

As it is known, a quarrel had taken place in the parliament that day between several MPs of the [ruling majority “Civil Contract”] CC Faction and the assistants of the MPs of the [opposition] "Armenia" Faction.

The real cause of the incident is already known to the NSS. The incident occurred as a result of an unpleasant address and expressions between [CC Faction] MP Hrachya Hakobyan [who is also the brother-in-law of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan] and Gerasim Vardanyan, the assistant of "Armenia" Faction MP Tadevos Avetisyan.

The NA MPs were questioned as witnesses.

Let us note that the criminal case has been initiated in the NSS under the first point of Section 3 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code: hooliganism.
