YEREVAN. – Armenian secret service changed its aims last month, reports Armenian Zhamanak (Time) newspaper.

“Previously National Security Service (NSS) was focused on the activities of oppositional Armenian National Congress and in particular [Armenian first president, opposition leader] Levon Ter-Petrosyan. However, starting from last month the NSS spends significant efforts to track [Armenian second president] Robert Kocharyan and people who surround him,” reads the newspaper article.

According to the paper, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan “considers Kocharyan as main threat to his power.”
