YEREVAN. – Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan of Armenia on Monday had a telephonic conversation with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov.

They discussed Armenian-Russian cooperation, the respective mutual visits, as well as the events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Russia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Also, Mirzoyan and Lavrov reflected on the course of implementation of the agreements reached by the trilateral statements of November 9, 2020, as well as of January 11 and November 26, 2021.

The Armenian foreign minister presented the situation along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border and in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) as a result of provocations and ceasefire violations by Azerbaijan.

In addition, Ararat Mirzoyan briefed Sergey Lavrov on the position of the Armenian side with respect to starting negotiations on the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace agreement; and the role of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs was highlighted in that context.

During the telephonic conversation, reference was made also to the process of normalization of Armenia-Turkey relations.

The Armenian and Russian FMs exchanged views on regional and international security issues, too.
