The European Union is ready to impose additional sanctions against Russia, EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said.

"Restrictive measures continue constituting an important part of our approach, and we are ready to take further (measures) with our partners," he told reporters after a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels, noting that no sanctions will be imposed this week. He said EU leaders should discuss what sanctions are possible.

At the same time, he noted that today is not the time to make decisions on imposing sanctions against Russia's energy sector, although participants discussed the issue during the meeting.
