As of January 1, 2023, a new restraining measure—house arrest—will be introduced in Armenia. Deputy Minister of Justice Arpine Sargsyan said about this at Wednesday’s session of the National Assembly.

According to her, work is being carried to ensure the relevant infrastructure in the country.

Sargsyan mentioned that the Ministry of Justice has announced a respective competition, the winner of which has already been decided.

"It is planned to acquire 200 electronic bracelets, 150 home monitoring devices, as well as relevant software and server software this year," she stressed.
