The introduction of NATO peacekeepers to Ukraine would be a dangerous decision, contact could lead to difficult consequences, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, RIA Novosti reported.

"This would be a very rash and extremely dangerous decision. A special military operation is being carried out, and any possible contact between our military and NATO's military could lead to difficult consequences," Peskov said, commenting on statements about the introduction of NATO peacekeepers to Ukraine.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov did not rule out that Poland, whose authorities say it is necessary to send NATO peacekeepers to Ukraine, would like to settle in the west of that country. In light of the fact that these actions would lead to a direct clash between Russia and the alliance, the minister noted that Polish representatives were known for their "non-standard moves", which were aimed at provoking "big trouble".
