The government proposes to give the Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia the same powers as the now former Special Investigation Service had. Deputy Minister of Justice Yeranuhi Tumanyants stated about this during Wednesday’s sitting of the National Assembly (NA).

According to her, this proposal will ensure the normal activities of the Anti-Corruption Committee.

Thus, the Law on the Anti-Corruption Committee adopted by the NA on March 24, 2021 stipulates that the Law on the Special Investigation Service is repealed from the day the Law on the Anti-Corruption Committee enters into force.

"Thus, the activities of the Special Investigation Service are considered terminated," Tumanyants explained.
