The Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe (CoE) took note of the results of the monitoring of the recent local elections in Armenia. Davit Khazhakyan—a member of the Governing Board of the Bright Armenia Party, a Yerevan councilmember, and a member of the aforesaid congress—wrote about this on Facebook Wednesday. He added as follows, in particular:

"Thanks to the efforts of our foreign ministry—in particular, of the Armenian representation in the CoE—important wording on Artsakh [(Nagorno-Karabakh)] was localized in the report, which naturally caused the dissatisfaction of the Azerbaijani delegates.

Speaking about the local elections, we, the Armenian delegates, also responded to the speech of the Azerbaijani delegate, insisting that the wording ‘Nagorno-Karabakh’ in the report is accurate and that the Artsakh issue is not closed."
