WASHINGTON. – Armenia needs to develop pluralism of media, U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary Thomas Melia told at Congress hearings after having visited Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia.
Melia also expressed concern about fundamental freedom on estimating the situation in Azerbaijan, ITAR-TASS reports. He told that elections held in Azerbaijan did not meet international norms.
Regarding Georgia, Melia noted that Tbilisi should focus attention on the development of political pluralism, implementation of important electoral reforms, strengthening judicial system and secure freedom of meetings.
