The Turkish minister of national defense spoke about the details of the purchase of new F-16 fighter jets from the United States.
Hulusi Akar told CNN Turk that the Armenian and Greek lobbies in the US Congress do not allow selling the upgraded Block 70 versions of the F-16s to Turkey and upgrading the F-16s Turkey already has.
Akar stressed that he is in touch with the American military elite on this matter and there are positive approaches, but the matter will be decided in the US Congress.
