The National Assembly of Armenia, on the initiative of the ruling majority "Civil Contract" Faction, is convening a special sitting Friday, the agenda of which has one matter.

On the agenda is the draft amendments to the Law on Local Self-Government, which propose to give the prime minister the authority to appoint acting officials in the communities where community leaders are not elected for some reason.

The bill has been considered urgent, which means that it will be put to a second reading in within 24 hours.
