The European Union is working on a new package of sanctions against Russia that is likely to restrict aircraft leasing and the import and export of products such as jet fuel, steel products and luxury goods, CNBC reported, citing two sources.

However, there is still disagreement in the EU about whether to extend these sanctions to energy imports.

The proposal for the next round of sanctions includes aircraft leasing, steel products, luxury goods and jet fuel, two EU officials said. Both sources added that the package is still under development and could change as negotiations continue in the coming days and ahead of the EU ambassadors' showdown on Wednesday.
